Maureen Denise McCormick was born on the 5th of August 1956 at Woodland Hills California the youngest and only daughter of Richard McCormick and Irene McCormick. Her father worked as a school teacher while her mother was an at-home mom. Her older brothers are: Michael Dennis and Kevin. McCormick started dancing and singing from a young age, and often performed puppet shows in front of the kids in her community. In the year she turned 6years old, she won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest. Pat Domigan from the Jack Wormser Agency then called her to ask if the actress would be interested in a career in showbusiness. McCormick was offered her first significant job in 1964 when she appeared in a commercial on television for Mattels new doll, Baby Pattaburp. She did another commercial in the year 1964 for Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was chosen to play the lead role in Wind It Up and It breaks, a production in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick won the 1969 audition of 1200 kids to be one of the oldest twins on the TV program The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed with Robert Reed. It lasted five years. In her autobiography Heres the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice which was published in 2008 McCormick revealed that during the fifth season, she nearly lost her virginity due to her onscreen brother and co-star Barry Williams. The actress was only 16 at the time; he was 19. It was likely that we would have a romantic relationship, said she. However, the timing was not right.
