Maureen FitzSimons' early achievements in performing arts (now called Maureen O'Hara), would put her in America's eyes, into the class of child prodigies. A child of Irish origins, who was surrounded she was by gifted parents, and her family did this naturally. Maureen entered this loving haven within Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th 1920. Her mother, Marguerita Lilburn FitzSimons, was a skilled contralto. Charles FitzSimons was a successful businessman from Dublin who also owned a part of the Irish soccer team Shamrock Rovers. Maureen FitzSimons was the child of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy, Florrie Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons made up this beautiful family. Maureen was an athlete at heart and enjoyed playing tough athletic games. The passion for sports was matched by an unnatural talent for performing. This was apparent that she was the winner of each Feis for drama and theater that Ireland had to offer. By age 14 she was admitted into the world-renowned Abbey Theater and pursued her dreams of classical theatre as well as operatic vocals.
