Her fame grew due to her part in "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" However, she was highly acclaimed by critics and got awards for best actress in the television show 'Ugly Betty. The awards were the Golden Globe Award (Best Actress) and the Screen Actors Guild Award (Best actress) as well as the Primetime Emmy Award. The unique role in "Ugly Betty" and in subsequent roles after that led to her becoming the ultimate "role model" for the young Hispanic women working in the world of entertainment.
